Remove silence from audio in three steps
- Choose an audio recording or an MP4, MOV, or WEBM video. Video cuts follow the audio cuts.
- Set how quiet and how long a pause must be before it gets cut. Press Remove silence.
- Listen to the preview, adjust the sliders if needed, and download the edited audio or video.
What counts as silence?
The tool measures short windows of audio. A window below your threshold counts as quiet. Only runs longer than the minimum pause are shortened, with optional padding left around each cut. Background noise can keep a pause above the threshold, so raise it gradually if pauses remain.
