Convert Audio to MP3 in three steps

    1. Choose one or more audio or video files, or try the included sample.
    2. Pick your MP3 bitrate and press Convert to MP3. Keep this tab open while it works.
    3. Listen to the preview and save individual files or download the batch as a ZIP.

One converter for every common format

Most people arrive with a file and a failed upload form. They know that the form wants MP3 and that the file does not work, but they do not know what the file really is. This page accepts the formats from phones, recorders, editors, and video cameras, then writes an MP3 at the bitrate you choose.

    How the format is detected

AudioClover looks at the first bytes of each file to identify the container, then picks the track to decode. That means you do not have to choose a source format first, and a file with the wrong extension is not a problem. If the format is recognised but the codec inside cannot be decoded by your browser, the converter names the problem on that file instead of returning silence.

    Picking a bitrate

Choose 128 kbps for speech, 192 kbps as a balanced default, 256 kbps for music, and 320 kbps when file size does not matter. Higher bitrates do not improve a lossy source, but they limit the additional loss of the second encoding. Lossless sources such as WAV and FLAC benefit the most from the higher settings.

When to use a dedicated page

The format pages carry tips for the most common problems, such as Voice Memos in M4A, AMR audio in old 3GP clips, or Dolby tracks in MKV. If you already know your format, open its page from the full list of converters.

    Frequently asked questions

Which audio formats can I convert to MP3 here?

WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG, OPUS, WMA, AIFF, WEBM, and the audio track of MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPG, 3GP, and M4V files. Each also has its own page with format-specific advice.

Does it matter if my file has the wrong extension?

No. The converter reads the file contents, so a recording saved as .dat or with a misleading name still works if its format is supported.

What if my format is not on the list?

DRM-protected files and rare formats such as APE are not supported. Old AMR phone recordings and Windows or Apple formats are read by an extra decoder that downloads once. If a file still fails, convert it once in a desktop player such as VLC.

    100% In-Browser Audio Processing

All processing runs locally in your browser memory via WebAssembly and Web Audio. Files never leave your device. Built-in peak limiting prevents audio clipping.
