VIDEO AUDIO

Video volume booster

Phone and screen recordings often have quiet voices. Raise the soundtrack, keep the picture, and save the louder video.

Try a sample

Hear a quiet spoken phrase, then boost it with peak protection.

Make a video louder in three steps

  1. Choose an MP4, MOV, or WEBM video, or press Try video sample.
  2. Leave the default Match loudness mode on, or pick Gain to add a fixed number of decibels.
  3. Press Boost volume, play the preview, and download the video with louder audio.

Why video recordings are quiet

A phone microphone is a long way from the speaker in a lecture hall, a meeting, or a street interview. The result is a soundtrack that sits far below the level of other videos, so viewers must turn the volume up and then get blasted by the next clip. Boosting the audio before you upload it fixes the problem at the source.

Match loudness, the default for video

In Match loudness mode the tool measures the average level of the soundtrack and raises it to a speech-friendly target of around −16 dB RMS. Peaks are softly limited, so a cough or a clap does not distort. If your video is already loud in places, the tool applies less boost, which is what you want. Gain mode is better when you know the exact amount you need.

Sync and quality

The audio is boosted over the full length and put back at the same timing, so lip sync is unchanged. The video frames are copied rather than redrawn where the browser allows. The soundtrack is re-encoded, so keep your original file. Very long videos need plenty of memory, because the soundtrack is decoded into uncompressed audio during editing; try a shorter section first on a phone.

Frequently asked questions

How do I increase the volume of a video without software?

Open this page, choose the video, press Boost volume, and download the new file. Everything runs in your browser; no upload, account, or watermark is involved.

Will the video quality change?

The picture is copied across, subject to the codecs your browser can encode. The audio is re-encoded as AAC or Opus, depending on the container.

Why does the video export as WEBM?

If your browser cannot encode AAC audio, the tool falls back to WEBM with Opus audio. Chrome and Safari usually export MP4.

Can I just get the louder audio?

Yes. Switch the download format to Audio only (MP3) after choosing your file.

100% In-Browser Audio Processing

All processing runs locally in your browser memory via WebAssembly and Web Audio. Files never leave your device. Built-in peak limiting prevents audio clipping.
