AUDIO TO VIDEO
MP3 to MP4 with an image
Add a picture to an MP3 and save it as an MP4 video, ready for YouTube, a slideshow or a social post. Choose a cover image, a title and, if you like, a moving waveform or a progress bar. The song never leaves your device.
Load a short original song and a generated picture, then make them into an MP4.
Convert MP3 to MP4 with a picture
- Choose an MP3 (or any audio file: M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG), or try the short original sample.
- Add a picture. Pick how it fills the frame: the whole picture on a blurred copy of itself, or cropped to fill. No picture? Use a color or a gradient.
- Optionally add a title, a progress bar with the time, or an animated waveform, and choose 16:9, square or vertical.
- Press Make MP4, then play the result and download it.
MP3 to MP4 without a black screen
Most online converters that turn an MP3 into an MP4 upload your file to a server and give back a video with a black or blank picture. Here the picture is yours: album art, a podcast cover, a photo or a slide. A tall phone photo or a square cover is shown whole on a blurred fill, so nothing is cut off on a 16:9 YouTube player, and the title is written over it with a soft shadow so it stays readable on any image. For music, an animated waveform at the bottom makes the video feel alive; for long talks and audiobooks, a progress bar with the elapsed and total time helps viewers find their place.
Fast enough for hour-long files
A song, a lecture and a full podcast episode all work. When the picture does not move, the tool writes one video frame per second instead of thirty identical ones (YouTube’s encoding guide lists the common frame rates and says other frame rates are also acceptable), and it reads the audio in a stream rather than unpacking the whole file into memory. In our test on an Apple M2 laptop in Chromium, a 60-minute MP3 became a 1080p MP4 in about 24 seconds, and about 41 seconds with the progress bar. The MP4 is almost all audio: about 85 MB per hour at 192 kbps, whatever the picture. The animated waveform needs the whole recording in memory, so it is limited to 10 minutes; a still picture and the progress bar work on files of any length your browser can open. The video is assembled in memory before you download it, so a phone may run out of room on very long files where a computer will not. Browsers that cannot encode H.264 (some Linux builds of Chromium, for example) get a WebM file with VP9 and Opus instead, and the page says so.
What the MP4 contains
The video is H.264 at 1920 × 1080 (or 1080 × 1080 and 1080 × 1920 for square and vertical), and the sound is AAC at 192 kbps and 48 kHz, which is what YouTube lists as its recommended upload format. The MP3 is decoded once and re-encoded to AAC, because an MP4 for YouTube should carry AAC; at this bitrate the difference is not audible for speech or music. Your original MP3 stays unchanged. Going the other way, from a video to an MP3, is a different job: use MP4 to MP3 or extract audio from video.
Private by design
The audio and the picture are processed in this browser tab and never uploaded to AudioClover or anyone else. That matters for unreleased music, client recordings and private voice notes. When the MP4 is ready, see how to upload an MP3 to YouTube for the steps in YouTube Studio. Make sure you own or have permission to use the music and the picture: a video upload does not change who owns them, and YouTube may match the music with Content ID.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert an MP3 to MP4 with a picture?
Choose the MP3, add the picture, and press Make MP4. The picture becomes the video track and the MP3 the sound. You can also add a title, a progress bar or an animated waveform before you export.
Is this MP3 to MP4 converter free, with no watermark?
Yes. It is free, adds no watermark, needs no account, and has no limit on the number of videos.
Can I upload the MP4 to YouTube?
Yes. The default is a 1080p H.264 MP4 with AAC audio at 48 kHz, which matches YouTube’s recommended upload settings. Videos over 15 minutes need a verified YouTube account.
Why does a long MP3 convert so quickly?
A still picture does not need 30 frames per second, so the tool writes one frame per second and streams the audio instead of decoding it all first. Most of the time goes into re-encoding the sound.
Can I add a moving waveform instead of a still image?
Yes, for recordings up to 10 minutes: choose Animated waveform under Movement. For full music videos with more styles, use the audio visualizer.
All processing runs locally in your browser memory via WebAssembly and Web Audio. Files never leave your device. Built-in peak limiting prevents audio clipping.
