Make a creepy voice in three steps

- Choose Creepy, Horror, or Deep machine.
- Press Create voice, listen, and download. Try recording a whisper for the scariest result.
What makes a voice sound scary
Three ingredients do most of the work. Lower pitch makes a voice seem larger and less human. A slow tremble in volume, around 3 to 6 beats per second, mimics a shaky breath. A short echo makes the voice seem to come from an empty hall. Remove high frequencies and the voice loses its crispness, which makes it sound distant. The Creepy and Horror presets combine all four in different proportions.
Which preset to pick
Creepy is a lighter effect that keeps words intelligible, good for pranks, Halloween videos, and story narration. Horror drops the voice further and slows it, with a long echo that suits monster dialogue, analog-horror style narration, and game characters. Because pitch and speed change together, a clip becomes longer: a ten-second recording becomes about fourteen seconds at Horror. For video input, timing is kept so the picture stays in sync, and the pitch effect is lighter.
Record for the best effect
A clear, close recording gives the cleanest result. Whisper or speak slowly, and leave a moment of silence at the end so the echo has room to fade. Avoid recording in a noisy room, because the effect enhances noise as well as voice. Try writing a short script, such as a warning or a nursery rhyme, and perform it quietly.
Text to speech and limits
Browser text-to-speech can be previewed on the robot voice page but cannot be saved as an audio file, so use a recording here. Everything runs on your device, and nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make my voice sound creepy?
Record or upload a voice, choose Creepy or Horror, and press Create voice. Whispering and slow delivery make the effect more convincing.
Can I use the audio in my videos?
The audio is generated from your own recording, so you can use it in your projects. Check the terms of any platform you upload to.
Does it work with text to speech?
Browser speech cannot be exported as a file. Record the text with your own voice, or use the robot voice generator preview.
Why is my clip longer after the effect?
The Creepy and Horror presets slow the audio and add an echo tail. For video input the original length is kept.
All processing runs locally in your browser memory via WebAssembly and Web Audio. Files never leave your device. Built-in peak limiting prevents audio clipping.
